Our Providers

Effie Medford, MD

Was born near Pawnee Oklahoma.  She was educated in Oklahoma receiving her bachelor’s degree.  Dr. Medford received her post grad for medicine in NM.  She continued on, gaining her MD in 1968.  Dr. Medford has practiced in the Albuquerque area since.  She practiced in Private Practices moving on to UNM School of medicine in the practice of OBGYN.  She has continued her expertise in the area of OBGYN serving the East Mountain area.

Dr. Medford has enjoyed her time also at the East Mountain Chamber of Commerce meetings, In addition to serving in various capacities with the East Mountain Lions Club.   She enjoys working with the patients she has acquired in the East Mountain/Estancia Valley areas and likes feeling useful to them and to the community.

Jodi Dettman, ACNP

Was born and raised in Upper Michigan moving to New Mexico in 2001.  She initially moved to Gallup to care for the Navajo and Hispanic population.  In 2008, work brought her to the Albuquerque area.  She has lived in Edgewood since that time.  Prior to working in a Family Practice/Urgent Care clinic in Moriarty, she spent five and a half years working at Gallup Indian Medical Center in the Internal Medicine Department while still residing in Edgewood.  Jodi has a wide range of experience including caring for diabetics in a diabetic education department, ICU, Medical Flight team provider, home/hospice and internal medicine.  With her spouse Bruce (Bill) Bouchard, they have five children and many grandchildren.  Jodi enjoys cooking, reading, traveling and gardening in her spare time.  She looks forward to continue caring for the people in the East Mountain/Estancia Valley communities.

Vivienne Prinz, FNP

Was born in England. She came to the states in 1978 and has resided here since. Vivienne completed training as a nurse in England, nanny in Greece then decided to come to the US. After obtaining her RN, she moved forward with BSN at UNM, then finally her FNP through St. Francis University. She enjoys living in the East Mountains of New Mexico with the ability to help the patients in her community.

Bruce (Bill) Bouchard, RN

Was born and raised in upper Michigan, moving to New Mexico in 2001. He initially worked as an RN with an ICU in Wisconsin. Upon relocating to New Mexico, he continued working in the Intensive Care Unit at Gallup Indian Medical Center. During the twenty eight years working in ICU, he has cared for pediatric, trauma, medical and surgical care patients. He has also enjoyed working as a Medical Flight Nurse in his spare time. Bill enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, with his spouse, Jodi, along with caring for the animals on their hobby farm. He is looking forward to providing health care to the residents of the East Mountain/Estancia Valley areas.

Dr. Alan Mannheimer

Is originally from Pittsburgh, Pa and yes, is still an avid Steeler fan.  He did his undergraduate work at the University of Michigan and then returned to Pittsburgh for Medical School.

Dr. Mannheimer did his Pediatric residency in Cincinnati where he remained for several years to do emergency and urgent care work.  After a short stint in Nashville, he made his way to San Diego to do a Pediatric Critical Care fellowship.  After completing his fellowship he moved to Albuquerque to work in the Pediatric ICU at Presbyterian Hospital.  He also had some wonderful opportunities to work in North Carolina and Florida, but is extremely happy to call New Mexico home.  While he primarily has trained in Pediatric, he also worked in Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care.  He looks forward to getting to know the families and community in the East Mountains.
